Seeking info/help on GMU 127 Palouse Permit
« on: October 09, 2020, 11:45:44 PM »
West sider who drew a Palouse Buck tag. Looking for general tips/advice on areas to hunt.
I'm not looking for anyone's honey hole, I'm just looking to find info on general areas that would be good to hunt following this past fire season.
Any help would be appreciated, I really don't know much about the area.

Thanks.

Fires weren’t really an issue on the Palouse this last season.  This tag has lost some value in the last few years due to the blue tongue outbreak 2015. Way more deer before then. But some quality opportunities do still exist. You might have to think outside the box if you don’t have any private land lined up. IEP pass to hunt their holdings on Mica peak, spotty DNR lands around the unit. Also WDFW has a bunch of the “reservation” and “permission “ hunts on private land check that out.

Mostly private as the man says, IEP on mica is not easy, steep, thick and tough access but great if you like it.  Mostly whitetail north, both south.  Been seeing some good ones, is the tag whitetail only?  Good luck

ONXMaps shows some "Feel free to hunt" parcels between Pullman and Colfax...  Take a gander on ONX, you might find yourself a nibblet of land to put a buck down on!!

Man... My wife keeps nagging me to take her back to where she went to college (Pullman) for a visit... Maybe whitetail hunting will be my reason to make that drive eventually.

Do not trust OnX in Whitman county, it is very inaccurate at times.

Good call. I reckon the list from the WDFW would be more legit. https://privatelands.wdfw.wa.gov/private_lands/type/22/
