Thanks for the PM.  We were out of town but our friends took him on a hike that day -- but not in that area.  It would have been a riot if he made it onto your camera though  :chuckle:

Obviously, I'm still casting my vote for dog.  Ranger's a shepherd/husky hybrid so I'll second the german shepherd guess.
