Never been down that way. I've got a whitetail tag in my pocket and looking for info. What are the roads like at this time of year? The northern section looks at about 3000 ft in elevation where as the Eastern section looks up near 4600+ . Is this mostly mule deer habitat or does it hold also whitetails. My thoughts were I may stay in lewiston and hunt this area for a few days. I really enjoy checking out new area. Any knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks Kram

It holds whitetail, the few rds into are fine, plenty of real estate to get out and explore. Brushy draws and timbered edges. Pretty easy to ditch the road and find solitude.

Anyone got any tips on how to hunt these cmwa whitetails? I'll be staying in waha on the Eastern side. Higher in elevation and looks more wooded, or should I head for the breaks above the rivers on the west and east slopes. Id take any help I can get.

Thanks. Hopefully we hit the rut right. I've got 3 days to get it done.

Was wondering what the conditions would be. Adventures in hunting. I'll find out if there are any whitetails in the snow.

Always carry chains. I'm a truck driver going over the pass tomorrow (11/13) supposed to snow 1-2 feet. Look forward to the challenge. Of course would rather not have to deal with it, but does not worry me.

Got your OnX. Keep an eye out for Indian Land. You could have feet of snow by Saturday. Zaza coming off top to waha grill get to be a sheet of ice. Best of luck be safe. Bucks are def rutting.
