Need Answers From A FFL Holder
« on: April 17, 2009, 10:06:29 PM »
I have been trying for two years now to find a gun shop or the manufacture to help me in getting a replacement bolt for my .22 mag. The Factory tells me I need a FFL before they will give me any info on how to get one. Gun shops tell me to call the factory and every time I get the same run around. I do not know if there is just not enough money in it or no one really knows the rules. If any one can help it would be great my son really wants to shoot that gun. Why I do not know, he has several of his own already.

Try another gun shop or even a gun smith?

Heck they should be able to ship a bolt without an FFL. At least I would think so. Sounds to me like the gun shop or a gun smith should be willing to help.

Ray,
I have tried every gunsmith and gun shop that I pass, phone book, you  name it. I started out at the factory the second time with the guns serial number and told them look I do not care what I have to do to get one I just need another one. My son loves to shoot, if you have any ideas please let me know. We shoot 200-300 rounds a weekend and I do not know why he wants to shoot this gun so bad but he does!

Should not need a FFL to get a bolt. What kind of 22 mag rifle is it?

If it is a model still in production then they should be able to fix it and send it back to you with no problems. The factory will want to have it properly head spaced. No FFL should be needed.

What model exactly is it.
Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

try searching or asking for info and help on this forum: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php

they are a forum pretty much dedicated to rimfire guns and have a whole section devoted to marlin rifles... it might be easier for you to get help there
