Sierra Pacific Timberland Changes
« on: March 13, 2021, 12:29:41 PM »
For those of you that have enjoyed a certain large walk in area owned by Sierra Pacific, there are some changes taking place. I have a Weyerhaeuser Columbia permit and noticed last week that some new Weyerhaeuser Lease signs were up at one of the entry points into Sierra.

I went cat hunting this morning and started at a different entry point and within 1 mile into Sierra land, I saw the 1st Weyerhaeuser Lease sign. Weyerhaeuser Lease- No Walk In Allowed. These signs were along a major road and went 3 miles along this ridge road.

I'm not sure what amount was purchased, or maybe swapped, and assume this will be a new Weyerhaeuser Lease Area for this fall. I'm also not sure how they will get to it, and only assume that all the signs aren't up yet.

Either way, a portion of a great walk in area is going to be no longer available to hunt, unless you get the lease. I left a message with Leland the 3rd party contractor that patrols Weyerhaeuser "Rocoz" or something like that is the company name.

I guess we'll have to wait and see where it lays out. I'm not going to say exactly where this is at, but people familiar with the area will know, as I mentioned my permit. I was given some info by a member, and he says that there's a Weyerhaeuser section of property that is in this area. So it looks like there're going to make a lease  area that borders a great portion of walk-in area.

Like I said, we'll have to see what happens. Either way, it's going to suck and this is not a good thing, but what can you do
