Switch back trail off the road to Hurricane Ridge from Heart of the Hills? That is a crazy steep trail! Did that the first time into Lake Angeles, that was 30 years ago!

Yes, that is the one. I think it is about 2000 ft elevation gain in about a mile until you hit the ridge. Then you hike the knifes edge until you drop down 900 ft to the lake.
That is the one!! Every time my son rubs in how fit he is I tell him I will drop him and a buddy off there and meet them at the lake!
That trail is no joke. I sure appreciate the reminder, got me thinking about a couple of Scoutmasters who have passed and a bunch of fellow scouts I had not thought of in a few years. Always great fishing, the lake is so clear you can see the fish from any elevated spot. Been up there in some crazy wind storms!
