manufacture date of firearms

i tried looking it up, im sure the topic has been here before, but i cant seem to find how to look up a manufacture date for a firearm. anyone have a quick tip look up for one? thanks!

reason being i just got back my original rifle i bought at 13. its a winchester model 70 in 30-06 and was just curious to see the manufacturing date

It depends on the manufacture of the firearm. Some are by serial number, some are by a code on the firearm, and some you will never find.

apparently my brain was not working well this morning. found it. was between 64-65 according to my serial number
