Spokane Area Duck Hunting
« on: October 01, 2021, 02:47:53 PM »
My son really wants to go duck hunting tomorrow for the youth duck hunt (neither of us have ever been duck hunting). We had scouted out a spot north of town in the Spring and it was absolutely loaded with ducks. He and I went back yesterday evening and there wasn't a duck to be found. I'm now trying to find a spot in the 11th hour.

We only have the morning due to a soccer game, so I'm trying to find something about an hour drive away. Some ideas I had were:
1) Lake Spokane / Long Lake - there is some Avista land that I thought was open to hunting, but now I can't find any info on it.
2) Lake Roosevelt - I've been followed along on my Kayaks by ducks before so I thought we could hike in past the Fort Spokane campground and maybe get him a duck or 2.

Does anyone have info on the Avista properties? Where would you go?

Turnbull refuge has had a youth duck hunt in the past. :twocents:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
