Phelps Duck Calls
« on: November 24, 2021, 08:24:37 AM »
Anyone running the Phelps duck calls? Looking at a PD-1 single reed. I have a DR-85 and a Buck Gardner Double Nasty but looking to break into the single reeds. Might have a JJ Lares on my Xmas list too though....

Anyways, let me know your thoughts if you have one! I'll probably buy to support local either way.

I've never used a Phelps, but LOVE my Lare's T-1.

I think I bought one of his wigeon whistles at the Yakima Sportsman show about 15 yrs ago. Lost it though.  I never ran a Lares T-1 or Hybrid so I can't help you there. Nobody in our group runs a Lares. If you Facebook, check out Call Nutz, Call collector lots of duck call groups there and they like to sell and trade. Good luck with whatever you get. On my lanyard I have 3 duck calls. RMC CWF, Coldfront Downdraft and a Taylor Talker out of Puyallup.

Phelps was running half off until yesterday...should have just jumped on it! 45 dollars for both the single and double reed acrylic. Can't speak to the quality though, don't know anyone who has one.

I bought one of the calls that were on sale. It arrived today. I like it. All 3 labs went nuts when I tried it out. Glad I took a chance.

I got them both during the sale. Haven't got them yet but will let you know. Happy to support Phelps and Meateater, regardless. I got an Echo Meat hanger, one of my favorite calls, to compare against.
