pictures from saturday
« on: November 13, 2007, 05:00:33 AM »
these are a few pictures of the success I had on saturday morning, as I said in my earlier post he was rattled in and his longest tines are 8" and he is 18" inside, not a bruiser but a nice buck to fill my tag with! this was the first time I had tried rattling and the first deer I ever called in on purpose, I usually spot & stalk, stillhunt or sit on a stand. I say on purpose because when I was a kid "too sick" to go to school, I snuck out & went for a quick hunt and stopped walking to empty my bladder, I was coughing & then I bent over and did a farmer's blow of my nose since I had no handkerchief or tissue. when I stood up there was a buck standing there looking at me! he must have heard the commotion and came to see what was all the racket about! we looked at each in surprise for a few seconds and then he tore off while I tried to get untangled from my slung rifle, never did get a shot at him.

That's a nice buck!  You might have to try that rattling thing more often huh.  Congrats to ya.

Most definitely! my daughter(11yo) still has yet to fill her tag and her mom still has a tag also, we will give it another try this week and weekend.
