Rod Identification
« on: January 19, 2022, 08:29:37 PM »
I was doing some organizing and came across two rods that have been buried and forgotten. One is 8', the other 8'6", both glass spinning. Brown aluminum real seats. No marks other than what you see. Immaculate condition. Decent backbone. Think I may reguide the lower sections and create some downrigger rods. Anybody familiar with these?

Original Lamiglass. Truly an icon in the rod category. Made for pulling plugs made when Lamiglass where the best of the best.

Interesting. I still use the Lami that I found on the Cowlitz in 1980. Had a Abu 6000 on it

:yeah: What Ashquack said. Pretty sure that is one of the first plug rods Dick Posey designed after he bought Lamiglas in 76'

Is there something wrong with the guides? You said they are in immaculate condition.

Seems a shame to destroy original classic rods when it would be easy to simply buy what you are looking for or else do the same to a less classic rod! :dunno:

Guides are fine, just set up for spinning. Knowing they are Lamis, I'll not alter them. I've a set of Fen fs83c rods that still get all my plugging time, so these rods don't have much use. Figrd making them DR rods would put them back on the water.
