Way Bummed_New X-Ray Pics
« on: May 07, 2009, 10:32:20 AM »
Last night while playing my weekly soccer game, I ripped the ligament on the inside of my left ankle which allowed the bone to move from it's normal position and also broke my tibia a couple inches above the ankle  :bash: ....Really sucks!!!! Seeing the surgeon later today.

Looks like I'm going to have to work real hard to get in shape for September elk season.

OUCH!!!  That makes me cringe just thinking about it!  Good luck with the doc.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

What a bummer....  Sorry to hear about that.  If you get to go you will need to make sure you have someone to pack for you.  I am not sure you could put an additional 80lbs + on your body frame with a recent broken leg and torn legament.

Sorry to say, but you probably won't be ready for hunting season.  I broke both ankles snowboarding on Y2K day, and I had surgery two days later, to have a plate and seven pins put in my right ankle.  I was in a wheelchair for 2-1/2 months, and was finally able to start rehab around April.  I was medically released by the doctor to be able to go hunt the day before rifle deer season.  I thought at that time that I was probably back to 85%, but by the next year, I realized that I was probably only about 70% healed that first year.  Doctor also told me that the bones heal faster than the tendons and ligiments, so I was lucky because I didn't tear any of those when the ankles broke.  So, with your tendon or ligimate damage, your in for a good year of rehab probably......BUMMMER!!!!!!  I feel for you dude.  I was stuck in my apartment for two months when I broke mine...thought I was going to go nuts...or kill something or someone...

After going under the knife on a knee I was worried about losing shape and getting back out asap. I found swimming allowed me to keep the cardio going with min. pain, who really knows but I feel it helped me out quite a bit, you might give it a try when you feel up to it.
