WWC and HHC will be working with Howling For Wildlife
« on: February 19, 2022, 07:08:48 PM »
We are happy to announce the WWC and HHC will be working with Howling For Wildlife.

As many of you know H4W has the innovative software solutions to make it easy for sportsmen to weigh in on issues important to us.  WWC has been working to inform sportsmen  via Facebook, and emails with some sucess. We had been looking into building something similar about the same time H4W launched. The explosive impact they have had since thier launch has been impressive. Sportsmen have embraced the platform and we look forward to contributing timely well thought out information for the calls to action. Please join us in making our voice heard in the volume necessary to make a difference.

Many of the thoughtful discussions held here on Hunt-WA will help us curate information for these calls to action. WWC is excited about the increase  in the desire to advocate for our hunting heritage. Please encourage everyone you know to sign up and create an account. We can make a difference in Washington State, and at the same time easily help our friends in other states. Anti hunting forces have had the 4upper hand in mobilizing comments, but now we have the opportunity to turn the tide.

This is outstanding!

Gary
One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job. ~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

Yes, not only is it easy to send messages for our state but a few extra clicks help hunters in other states.

Can't find much about them online.  Would like to find a little more about this group before donating or joining. Transparency of funds, background of founders, stance
on long term issues other than current hot button issues etc..
Certainly not knocking them or criticizing in any way, just over the years have learned to get the full picture before joining or donating to any cause. Leary of some hunter friendly groups right now who are pushing for the idea that wildlife are not and should not be the general publics property. They believe wildlife should be owned by whomever private property they are on and that owner should be able to mandate complete management of that wildlife. They also believe wildlife is a valuable commercial property and states should be managing it in the manner which generates maximum income. Basically prime hunting area and game should be sold to the highest bidder.  Not accusing this group of being part of that long term idea, but an issue I'd like to know their stance on.

I want to address a couple of your points.
1 you dont have to create an account to use the site. it just makes it easier to  do future calls to action, AND you can earn points for drawings and such. You just have to manually enter in your info each time. They have given away some cool swag to incentivize people to howl.
2 Charles has been on several local podcasts. The Huntsmen from ID, Soulful hunter podcast from Western Wa.

Ive been signed up since Jan and donated one of my books as a reward. Fully support these guys. It is really just what hunters needed as far as action items go.

:yeah:  they are doing what the anti's have been doing for a long time. Its soooo easy to use them to submit comments on an issue. I'd also urge people to "howl" on all issues, not just WA issues. As hunters we need to support one another whether that's spring bear in WA, trapping in CO, or hunting on Sundays in South Carolina. :twocents:
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton
