Was he active on HuntWA? I'm sorry about the loss of your friend, Trapper.

No sorry to say he wasn't.
He was just an Old Trapper that was very active with the WSTA from way back into the 70's up until his death.
His wife passed away about ten years ago from cancer and he never got over losing her.  She was the love of his his.
Every time I seen him, he would tell me he missed her badly.

Tom was 90 years old.  He lived a great life.

Tom was a Machinist he worked for John Deere back in the midwest and hated.
So and moved out hear to Washington with his wife and young kids back in the 60's I believe.
He went to work as a machinist for Boeing and retired from them.
He had 10 to 15 award certificates honoring his machinist skills out in his shop at home
He had several awards from NAFA for putting up some beautiful furs.
He was awarded into the Hall of Fame from the Washington State Trappers Association.
He was well known Nation Wife for his miniature double long spring trap.  He sold thousands of them.  I have two.  (No: don't even ask)
His trap is a trapper and trap collectors must have.  I think the trap is about 3" long.
What a skill this guy had and a person you want to know.
A lot of knowledge is gone.

It was a good well attended Memorial today for him.
A lot of family members and quit a few trappers.
Quit a few family members talked about Tom, him trapping and skinning critters.
There was a guy that said that Tom introduced him into the skinning part first by shinning a skunk.
He said he will always remember that day and him.

There is so much stuff that I didn't know about him but I will let you know more some here but most through or magazine.
Look for you copy it was printed today and should be out in the mail next week.

Tom was well like and loved by a lot of people.
Rest in Piece Tom.  Until we meet again: happy trails

Old trappers are a treasure, known several and respected them immensely.  Every trapline has a story.  RIP Tom.
