It will happen.  I was talking to a guy that applies every year and he had no idea it was less than a week away.

The big orange box in front of your picture, on the front cover of the regs. is easy to miss.  :chuckle:

--Ya ive talked to guys that have no idea that the deadline is next week aswell. Looking at peoples pts im real hopefull that next year when wdfw says there going to make the system "work" that the guys at the top of the list will start to get drawn. I cant believe how many people have more than 14 pts though! I think that nobody should be allowed to have more pts than guys that have been applying since 96 but thats just the way it goes i guess.

None, I shoot cows     :chuckle: :chuckle:

Does that mean you don't apply for elk permits, or you do apply but draw a cow permit every year ???

Sorry Bob, I was trying to be funny.... cows don't have points...

I only ever apply for one specific hunt and that is all.

He hadn't picked them up yet.  BECAUSE......he isn't used to them being out yet.

4 points and put in as a group for Eastern Archery.... and will apply again next year we all will have 5 each....  :bash:

Keep in mind that applying as a group reduces your chances of getting drawn.

Q: If I am part of a group application, are my chances of getting a permit greater than if I apply by myself?
A: Those who apply as an Individual actually have the advantage over those who apply with a Group. In fact, the larger the group, the more your chances of being selected for a permit are reduced.

Keep in mind that even when applying with a group, you are allowed to apply as an Individual also.

Q: Will there still be partnerships?
A: There will still be "partnerships", but the new system will allow more than two for some game animal species. We are now calling this a "Group" which consists of the Leader of the Group and Members of a Group. A hunter may also apply as an Individual. The group sizes vary depending on species. Consult the hunting pamphlet for the maximum group sizes by species.

At most places that carry the regs you have to ask for them.  Maybe it's just me.  I dropped into Big 5 to pick up my clam license and since I didn't see them anywhere I figured I'd ask.  The guy opened a drawer and handed a copy to me.  It used to be there'd be stacks of them in the usual places.

Deadline is midnight May 21st, right  :hello:

4 points right now.  Won't be able to put in for anything decent until I have 7.  At least at that point I have a chance....however slim that may be.
