Lake Washington's Fishing Forest Hotspots
« on: May 18, 2022, 11:34:07 AM »
Some of the best underwater Fishing Structure has been left over from past Earthquakes and they are right in our own backyard.
There are three groups of underwater trees in Lake Washington (one just north of Kirkland and two off the coast of Mercer Island) caused by a Massive Earthquake, well before our time.
“The quake caused rock avalanches in the Olympics, uplifted southeastern Bainbridge Island 20 feet and Alki Point 13 feet, produced a Tsunami that hit the southern tip of Whidbey Island, drowned West Point with a monster wave, and sent trees sliding 200 to 400 yards into Lake Washington.” (leaving behind, a Forest of Fishing Hotspots, No wonder the Sockeye always hang out just below Mercer Island.)
And the trees aren’t alone down there. Beneath the surface in Lake Washington, there are also planes, trains and about 400 downed boats.  :yike:

My father used to talk about how he could see the trees when he was motoring around the lake in the late 30’s, early 40’s. The lake was that clear back then.
