Camo Rifles?
« on: May 21, 2009, 12:18:22 PM »
How many of you have either had your rifles professionally camo painted or wrapped, and how many of you have done it yourself? I'm looking into getting mine done, probably homemade. Anbody have pics of theirs?

There have been a few threads on painting a rifle.  Check out the Guns category.

We did my son's Rossi Trifecta last year, just for kicks (and because he thought it would look cool).  We just did it the old fashioned way; bought some decent quality spray paint, gave it a base coat, then started laying vegetation on it and overspraying.  Turned out OK.  I made him the ghillie suit about the same time.
I have a better picture of the gun with his buck last year, but it's not on this computer.

Mine came from the factory (Savage) with good camo (that is BDU fabric in the background).

But it is not uncommon for people to do the camo themselves.  Varmint Al descibes doing it (as have others on this forum, as noted above. Go for it!

Yeah, he wanted to take a picture that looked like the turkey was sneaking around behind him...
...don't know where he gets that warped sense of humor...must be from his mom... :chuckle:
