alright here it is, how many of you have fished these lakes? getting out for a long weekend where i plan on spending my days fishing on lake Cushman and kokanee as well. I don't have a boat, so it will be shore fishing for me! how is the fishing from shore, does anyone know? also is there bass, or crawdads? any hints would be appreciated!

Cushman has small Kokanee, trout and a few chinook.  Kokanee is planted with trout, I’ve never fished it.  Good luck!

There are crawdads in the couple creeks.  Look up big creek.  Plenty Koks in Cushman but only fished it from boat.  There are dolly Vardon and not uncommon to catch them.  Make sure you read regs.

Lots of Kokanee in Lake Cushman. By boat you might have to search for the schools of Kokes. Once you find them, it is fish on.
If fishing from shore, I use to always run up to the bridge at the Staircase end, if the Koke schools are there you can limit in No time.
If the schools are not there, you are trout fishing hoping the Koke schools come by,  :chuckle:

Lake Kokanee I have only fished a couple times many moons ago, great fishing but probably not relevant now.

My uncle worked at the dams for 40 years. He took my Dad and I to the lower dam when I was about 10. We got to fish from the dam walkway. Some of the best trout fishing I have ever had.
We both limited within a couple hours, and they ranged from 18-26 inches!

That was in the early 70’s though
