How does one get started ice fishing??? I have a place up on highway 2 on the pass but everything up there is buried under feet f snow, is there anything around the Wenatchee area??

I've never tried it myself, but I have talked to folks who have done quite well ice-fishing for Browns on Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee.

I'd guess you can walk just about anywhere on curlew.

I had 10 inches of mostly white ice

I got a Marcum under water camera this Christmas, my daughter sure bogarted that all day  :chuckle:    but she was slaying the fish!

If you bring kids, that camera might be the difference of fishing alone or them begging you to go!

Very cool.  What was shaping up to be a excellent ice fishing season is not nearly as good as I was hoping so far.  Need some colder weather!!

I saw two separate guys out on Cocolalla ice fishing yesterday.  lake is 100% covered but with as warm as it has been you would not catch me out there!

Yep, not me either.  I have heard some guys are catching nice numbers of perch out there, but I've busted through the ice once before and am not in a hurry to do it again!  If it ever turns cold again, we'll have to meet up.  I have all the gear you need.

Not holding my breath on it cooling down, but I am really up for that if it does!

Ice is plenty thick enough and 40 isn't gonna melt off enough to make it unsafe but the surface slush may be really unpleasant. I was hot to trot for curlew this weekend but my son doesn't have chest waders  :chuckle:
