Awesome!!  Next time you chat with him, ask him what traps he's using and what type of sets he is catching them in.  :)

He said he caught one on a snare and the other was with a 650 Duke, slightly modified, bigger chain, on a dirt hole coyote setup just bigger footprint. Set back a little further apart for a bigger dogs stance and used fox urine for a lure is all. He said it had a great deep pad hold on the dog.

He usually brings his hounds out with him and let's them run around a bit in the general area before he sets up so that they can spread their scent around. I know another guy who caught five a couple years ago who goes around all summer and keeps ziplocs in his rig so when he comes across an area with lots of wolf scat he collects a bunch of it and then when he sets up he puts some of that wolf scat from another territory near the set. It pisses off the local pack and he feels they tend to come around his sets more thinking another pack has come into their area. Kind of like letting the hounds pee on everything before setting up. Has to work at least a little for luring them in to find that mystery dog in their territory.  :dunno:

I've also heard of guys colleting their hounds/dogs bedding all summer and fall and using that at sets for the same reasons.  The guy who collects th scat is hopefully aware of the danger in collecting their scat and takes precautions not to breath in any of the dust when he's handling the scat.  Pretty scary parasites in the wolf's scat.

Got another one! In a snare and wrapped itself up on a tree.

He didn't send a pic of him holding it but I think it was a smaller one.

Hell yeah! They’ve seemed to be spread out this year. only seen evidence from one pack in 10 this year and most sign I saw overall was in the Selway.

He said it appeared that the pack in this particular area was already replaced since he has been trapping them. He said the tracks seem to show atleast 9-10 in the group and he had them down to about 5 last winter.  :dunno:
