My Hoyt needs new strings.

Hey guys, I have an 06 Hoyt Vectrix.  I think I'm due for new strings, just wondering what your preferences are?  Thanks for any info.

Winners Choice makes  great strings, and XXX Archery makes some good string also.

Vaportrail or Winners Choice are supposedly make very good strings.  I only have experience with Winnerschoice.  You can get a set for about 85-90 bucks.  I dont know what they charge to install since I do my own.

winners choice, but you may be paying a little extra since you have two cables and a string vs. a string and cable on a single cam bow.

Thanks for the info guys, I've heard that winners choice are good strings.  Does anybody know anything about the custom strings that Doug uses up at Great nothwest archery there in puyallup?  Thanks again.

I was checking out Doug's bow at GNW recently and he had his own custom strings on there which were black and green which looked pretty cool.  I don't know how good his strings are tho.

I was happy with the string and cables from XXX, they did a great job.

I took my Hoyt to the Federalway sportsmans last year and had the strings & cables replaced and my Hoyt never shot right again. The guys at Sportsmans advised me to take it to a shop to get looked at as my arrow was fish tailing all the way down the range (with field tips) . Took it to two local shops and still had same problem ( both tried to tune ), second shop wanted to put another set of strings & cables to correct (after trying all) but I didn't want to spend another $ 100 on my Hoyt. I ended up upgrading to a new bow. My advice is to take it to the shop you purchased it at or another Hoyt dealer.  The funny thing is people on here all give rave revues to the shop guys at Sportmans, mine must of been an isolated incident. I will always in the future take my bow to the shop that services that brand, even if a little more money to make sure it is done right. Mike

Well, I ended up taking it to GNW where I bought the bow.  Doug has always done a good job for me.  He is putting on new strings and will be tuning it.  This should fix my problems,  the strings were definitely due.  Thanks for the info guys.
