Ruger Ranch 300 blkout
« on: November 19, 2023, 11:15:52 AM »
So, I just acquired a ruger ranch in 300 blkout.  Won it at the NRA dinner.  Curious if anyone has experience with this rifle and what loads work best through it.  I plan to put a can on this as well, use it for general shooting and some small game hunting.
Right wing shooter, I aim for the left!!!

Nowhere in your incoherent rambling did you come close to what can be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I have shot one in .223 quite a bit. Decent rifle, would be great with .300 blkout and a can

Here is a decent review

I have one, with a can.  Just about any pointy tip ammo works fine in it.  But round nose and flat nosed bullets will hang up and not feed up the ramp properly.  That has been a major frustration and I hope Ruger has fixed that little issue.

Subs are very quiet and accurate.

Fiocchi 125g SST shoots very well.  Easy to pop a tennis ball with them out to about 250 yards.

Fun little gun.

I have one with a wood laminated stock. 150sst bullets are fast and extremely accurate. I have been using it while slaughtering cows. Shots over 100 yards between the eyes  are no problem. Drops them in their tracks. I use a can with the 150,s. Quieter than a 22 rifle. 212 gr bullets are great. Shoot those and you will know why they call it the whisper

Thanks yall.  I will have to grab some different loads and give it a whirl.  It will be a bit before the can comes through, so ill have time to figure out what the gun likes.

Does using a can drastically change the performance of the rounds?  Ive never shot anything with a can before, so this is all new to me.

A can can. Think of them like a muzzle device. It’s there to make a change. Some for the better, sometimes not better. Sometimes, not much worth noting.

Shooting Supers you won't see a radical difference. Shooting Subs can be significant. Go with a tried and true can and you should have no issues.
You will zero with the can either way so once zeroed you are good to go until you change something.

I used my 300blk suppressed to take my deer this year. It shoots the 200grn sub ammo very very well.

FWIW, Nosler has some decent deals on 300 BLK ammo if you're looking for some to shoot without getting to serious about working up a load.
