Desert Unit Buck Tags Past and Present
« on: June 13, 2009, 01:57:49 AM »
I have to say I was a bit shocked, Mostly after the last few days everyone has been wondering what tag they got and I checked for a buddy of mine and he ONLY Puts in for desert (we hunt archery by the way) and he showed selected on his and I showed selected on mine but WE only submit individual APPs so we don't necessarily run into the problem of having to fill 2 awesome tags at the same time but Hey even though I couldn't remember what order I put my 3 choices in I guess it doesn't matter now since we both drew the dang thing!

We spend alot of time at potholes reservoir Bow fishing for Carp and all that during the summer and late summer and we have seen alot of big Deer out there but what we are even more interested in now is maybe some insight from those that have gone before. I now there is alot more territory to cover out there and I am sure there are places or locals that may point someone in the right direction. and we aren't asking to be led by the hand.  But seeing as this is a rather limited affair I would hope past successful and future hopefuls may feel good hearted enough to pass a couple guys a bone... :hello: :)

I don't know the unit, but if you go back to the last page of the deer hunting section and start working your way forward, you will find plenty of threads on the Desert unit.  Threads on here go back to 2007, and as you can imagine there's lots of chatter about this unit.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Not many bones to pass.  The unit is only so big and only so much of it isn't private.  Have good binos and good boots and you should do quite well.

Excellent and thank you both.
I used to work up a storm on another website that was more so a archery page but most of the Old Dogs in that camp were a bit set in thier ways and didn't like anyones opinion other than thier own. I have been silently watching for quite some time and I believe I have made the right choice moving here there is leaps and bounds more interaction. And everyone here is friendly and has my kinda sense of humor.

I loved that drawaholic thread from the other day. You Know you are in the right crowd when your creativity is being channeled in such ways during the work day!  :chuckle:
I haven't quite figured out how to post pictures yet I tried the other day for a quilimene thread and I messed it up There is a how to thread somewhere I assume I think I saw one but I will keep looking.
thanks again though when my buddy and I get our butts out there again we will hopefully have some pictures to post for some antler development updates and scout mission stuff! share and share alike is the way I do business.

Additionally if the archery guys that have this tag are up for it we can maybe get together for a Deer camp poker night during the season we'll Host I got a 16x20 canvas wall tent we can rig up a big table.
 :)
