Well, after 15yrs of putting in for big bull tags I have finally been drawn. Our group has hunted the Dayton unit for 20+ years and we had planned to move camp closer to home this year. My grampa will be 82 this year and he wants to be a little closer to home in case gramma needs him back. Looks like we have to move camp now for sure as I drew the Goose Prairie A rifle tag for elk. I hunted this unit last year for deer while my buddy elk hunted (archery). I have learned a bit about the Nile unit, but unfortunately it was during early and late archery and I never got a chance to get into the Bumping.
It looks as if the oil guru's will love me this year, as there is gonna be a bunch of scouting going on. I was wondering if anyone who has rifle hunted either or both of these areas might be able to throw me a bone on what I should look forward to in rifle season. I know late archery was a mad house.
