Quinault Quality Elk 2045
« on: July 10, 2024, 02:54:15 PM »
WDFW changed my permit from Peninsula to Quinault. I’ve read through a few of the threads on the area.

If anyone has drawn this permit and hunted the area I’m curious how you navigated the private property along the river?

Camping options for a 20’ RV? I’m not unfamiliar with the area but I haven’t camped there. Usually stay at Kalaloch.

I went along on a hunt and we floated in a drift boat. I believe you can access below the high-water marks, and since it's a pretty broad valley that leaves quite a bit territory to hunt in some areas.

As far as camping, the Rain forest resort on the South Shore road has electrical hookups for your rv if that important to you. Another nice option is a small rv park in Amanda Park right by the 101 bridge, although I can't recall the name. Have fun!

I’m going through the OnX maps, there is a fair amount of different landowners. Is it legal to hunt the high water mark even if the land is privately owned?

The land will show ownership. The river is navigable, so public access statutes apply. I wish it were more clear. Great discussion on general access here: https://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,280485.0/all.html
