Coyotes at Night
« on: December 03, 2024, 04:21:35 PM »
I have a hand held thermal. Has anyone called coyotes and used the thermal to locate them and used a spotlight to shoot them. Does it work around here? We did it that way in Ireland with foxes.

Thanks Jstone

I got my hand held thermal and thermal scope at the same time.

But I did one hunt where I used my scope to scan and shoot, and my brother used my hand held thermal to scan and used an IR light and digital nightvision on his rifle.  We called one in and my brother shot it with his rifle.

I'm sure it could work, at least sometimes.

Sometimes coyotes panic and run when a light turns on. Other times they stop and stare into it.  Just depends on the day and on the coyote I think.
