I’ve hunted Idaho elk several times in a zone I know pretty well. It sold out way faster than usual and I didn’t get my tag, but my stat sheet had Big Desert zone as an alternate and I managed to snag it. I’m now the guy posting asking if anyone has hunted the Big Desert zone - only 57 nonresident tags so I’d expect a pretty small response. I have some specific questions about areas of interest I’ve identified I’m hoping to ask of someone familiar with the area. If need be I’m willing to trade info on one of the zones northwest of there or from 35 years of hunting, hiking, and shed hunting Winston, Ryderwood, Packwood, Randle, the GPNF, and other SW WA areas. In general, I’m not willing to share my specific killing meccas and not asking for any, but I can get someone pointed in a very good direction and hoping for the same. PMs only.
