Dumb Question
« on: June 22, 2009, 08:56:45 PM »
Ok, I'm going to get a couple of cameras.  I have a question on the memory. Card, do they use the same as a digital camera?  What sort of memory card should I have if I plan to leave the camera out in for a month or more?  Any suggestions on cameras to look at?  I was thinking about the cuddleback capture, I want something easy to operate and relatively compact size wise.

From my minimal experience most trail cams take a sd memory card. My camera is only 2.1 Megapixels so I can fit oveer 1,000 pics on a 2 gig memory card. So a 2 gig may work unless the cuddieback has like 10 megapixels or something.  :twocents: I have left my camera out for 5 weeks once and the battery died after taking 736 pictures. So as long as the battery can hold up the 2 gig card should be enough.

I am no expert for sure. But the D40s I use take a standard SD card and for 50 bucks apiece they work great. (now 79 bucks at Cabelas I think) SD cards make it great for checking  cards with camara in the field. Not sure what size card you would want for that long in the field. Hope I was of some help. Be careful you will become addicted.Mark

My Cuddebacks use a Compact Flash card NOT an SD Card. Check with the manufacture before you purchase your cards. I don't know what card the capture uses? A 2 gig card would be plenty. Again, check with the manufacture on how many gig card can be used with the Trail Cam!!!
