Hi everyone, I know there’s a lot of older posts that are semi-similar to this one, but I’m gonna start my own to revitalize. I’m a long time member of the forum, and have been an avid hunter my whole life but have really started to get this fishing bug! I live in Centralia, and have read articles and watched videos about salmon fishing tactics, rigs, etc to the point my head aches; it’s all a bit overwhelming for a newbie to say the least.
I’m looking for any advice anyone has to offer on good mid level rod-reel set up, bait/rig set up tutorials, and ultimately if anyone is willing to take a hard working, eager to learn, and tight lipped new angler out to learn some bank fishing for salmon and steelhead, I’d pay for gas, dinner, whatever you name it! Id love to make a good fishing partner out of the deal too, not just looking for temporary help. Just a guy who wants to learn. These plunking, drifting, spin n glo, all the set ups are a bit daunting but I’m eager to learn, I’m just a hands on learner I guess is the best to say it. Anyways, thanks all and happy fishing!

Plunking with spin n glos with a brined C00n shrimp is a good effective way to get started. Use a longer heavy backbone rod with fast action.
