Grizzly recovery

Saw this on the news the other night. I just think it's another push from the environmental groups to keep the grizzly bears on the endangered species list. Some areas are already heavily populated.

I have done Bear ID at least the past three years if not more. They started Bear ID before they made proposal I think.

There have been grizzlies in NE WA for a long time. Maybe not many, but when folks freak out about potential "grizz in WA" they forget they're already on the ground (and why we have to take the ID test)

This is just my opinion; The grizzly population in the Montana/Wyoming and other areas is much larger than anyone is willing to admit to. Every effort is being made to avoid any type of hunting season or meaningful population control. I spoke with a Montana resident a couple of weeks ago, who said that grizzlies are now showing up in Eastern Montana. Anyway, in this large population of grizzlies, there are a percentage of problem bears. They don't want to allow hunting, and don't want to kill problem bears. They need a place to put them. Again, just my opinion; The North Cascades/Washington State Grizzly Recovery is about releasing these problem bears into Washington State. Washington State will become the dumping ground for Problem Grizzlies from Montana/Wyoming. The likely plan is to release these problem bears into remote areas where they have little likelihood of causing problems/endangering people. This will eventually prove to be a false hope. Someone will get hurt eventually. Anyone defending themselves from one of these bears will be made an example of. Like I said, JMHO.

Montana and others are stupid for not hunting them. They are way outside their recovery zone. They need to be controlled through hunting just like other animals. It's not like grizzlies are going to stop reproducing.

You can hunt them in Alaska and Canada. BC is residents only.

It all comes down to antis back when they set a number of how many wolves, griz, are going to represent a come back the they argue for highest number. Than when the number is reached they fight because the don’t believe the number. So an endless battle goes on forever.

If grizzlies wanted to live in any numbers in the Cascades they would. They don’t need help from humans. The animal rights folks can’t stick to a policy. They say humans aren’t needed to keep game in check, but grizzlies and wolves do need humans to balance?

It’s simple they want to call all the shots and no one else matters.

Unit 437 was not on that list in 2024.
