Started some whitetail scouting. This buck looks to be on his way to being a 6 or has a split g2 on right side

I’ve only seen a handful of bucks in my life with this much growth in June and all turned into big bucks. Excited to watch him over the next couple months.

Couple miles away I hunted this buck a few years ago. He was high 170’s  Buck this year has quite a bit more antler than he did at this time but less mass. Be real interesting how big he gets

It consumed me. He just up and disappeared. Had quite a few cats in area and thought he was killed. I spent my entire fall trying to find him. Following spring and summer I tried again and nothing. That fall I got a pic sent to me of it dead. Killed by a bowhunter on private about 2 ridges and 5 miles away.

Dang, that’s rough. Better to a bowhunter than a cat I suppose. Gotta love a tall, square framed 5x5, especially when their g2 is taller than their g3. Makes them look like they’re wearing a crown.

The buck I got last year had about that same growth as the one you've been posting for this year.I believe,I'd have to look at my archives of trail cam pics .That 170 is a hog.
Anyway ,your on to a good one....👍
