I don't have a problem with baiting deer, but if you shoot a record buck doesn't it disqualify it from the P&Y book under the fair chase rule?

No it does not disqualify it from the P&Y records book.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

It never showed the host shooting a buck.  It only showed the hosts son shooting a buck and the hosts sons friend shooting a buck.  The show was okay.  Nothing special.  It was your typical white tail from a tree stand hunt.  YAWN!!!

They were dragging all the bucks out, so a driveway or lodge couldn't have been far! Lol!

Shane(WA),

We've had our disagreements in the past but I know a guy on 31st and Glenrose and he said (the host, can't remember the name) asked if he could shoot the deer in the back yard. Actually he asked the wife, she said yes and then my buddy went out and said no. The guy was stalking a deer in the back pasture of this house. LOL!! I mean COME ON MAN!!! this is in a residential neighborhood. Is shooting a big deer really that important? I'd be ashamed of myself if I did that.  Anyways just wanted to share that.

BTW, I saw the show and while it was kind of cool watching a hunt from Spokane it excited me about as much as the guys in Texas shooting deer at a feeder.

I can imagine the audio of the kill scene on that one!

"Alright, as soon as he steps out from behind the swing set, take him!  Oh and watchout for the dog-house!"

What a fu--- joke!  >:(

I know, I was floored when I heard that. He introduced himself as the host of the show and asked if he could do it. But there??? Geez. I drive that road a lot for work and there are some monster bucks but they are basically tame. They just lay around in peoples yards all day long. Another friend lives about 1/2 mile from there and had two big bucks fight in his front yard. They just tore the hell out of his newly seeded lawn. He went out to shoo them off and one pawed the ground like a bull getting ready to charge.  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

I guess whatever floats your boat but if you actually shoot a deer there it's defintely become more important to tag a buck than it is to enjoy the whole hunting experience.

P.S. I don't think he had a camera crew. Seems like my buddy said he was alone.

Totally agree!

Lol!  That's funny he didn't have a camera crew with him...Even he knew he'd get a bunch of sh-t if the footage would have been aired!

If that's what an individual has to do to kill a big buck, I believe they've lost sight of what this sport is about.

I posted a while ago about this moron.  His name is Jim Burnsworth.  The show is a joke.  He shoots a 30-378 weatherby with a 130 xlc bullet going 4100 fps.  He thinks it is so coooool.  What a moron.  Can you imagine the damage at that velocity.  He also likes to hunt drugged up elk behind fences.

The first buck they shot was eating apples in the pines, there was another one eating corn or some yellow powder.  I hope he reads these post and realizes what a pile he is.

He is a piss poor representation of a hunter and the sad part is, his kids are not going to be much better with him as a role model.

Lol!  After reading through some of those posts on archery-talk, it looks like several individuals have begun to boycott Western Extreme's sponsor's!
