My wife found her first shed
« on: Yesterday at 09:36:31 AM »
We have found several together, but she found this one herself this fall while out with me photographing.
She is still smiling.

That’s a good one, especially for a first!

I love picking up sheds but it's even better when your wife finds one on her own: tup:

Very nice!
Keep in mind often the other one will be within 100 yards of the other. They will work pretty hard to get the second one off after the first drops.
I found a fresh Elk shed but could not find the mate. A year later while hunting in the same area I found the obvious second, but it was slightly weathered and had a few chew marks on it. Still a nice 5 point set though.
If you are into sheds it is usually worth checking around the area for the other.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

We looked extensively for it. My guess, is it fell in the open and was scooped up.  She is standing where she picked it up, very thick pocket. The elk was probably doing the same as us, getting out of the weather.
