CRSSE license

Don't forget if you plan to fish the Columbia or tributaries in 2026 the new again Columbia River Salmon/Steelhead Enhancement license is required starting Jan. 1.  Had problems getting it on-line so ended up going to a dealer.  First one thought it was no longer required, I explained it was again required, but they couldn't get it either.  Went then to Sportsmen Warehouse and was able to get it there.

I was just checked by a warden on the Cowlitz and this was brought to my attention, didn't get a ticket but it is kind of BS when you buy a fish Washington package and then they come out with another Washington state $$ grab 3 months before it expires, Its included in the next years fish Washington package so I think I'll just wait to renew and get it then and not have a 3 month time lapse. Sorry about the rant just sick of this state's way of operation, definitely looking for ways to fill pockets with absolutely no return in the fisheries management.

That same thing happened to me, as I assumed that my Combo Fish package included it...NOT. The warden was nice, and I packed up and went and got it. I ran into him the next day, showed it to him and said thanks again. And while I was getting my 2026 one, I went ahead and got the 2027 one, as it was going to be needed in a month or so.

I find it amazing that the State can just do this at a whim, with no input or oversight from anyone...They could have at least been decent about it and started it the same time as the license expiration, but that would have cost them $$$$$$$$.
