Last duck hunt of the season
« on: January 23, 2026, 01:52:46 PM »
At this point I think my season is over. This was my personal best season by far but it’s only my third season hunting.

I have a few things to work on for next year. Getting better at calling, shooting and some minor boat revisions.

Good luck if you get out!

Great final hunt of the year. Way to get after it and find success! Awesome to see in only your third season.

So you know, boat revisions never end. If ya ain't changin something, you're thinking about changing something. All year your eyes catch every boat for ideas. Mixed feelings about another phenomenal season coming to a close. Great crew headed out today and tomorrow. Another chance next Sat with old battle buddies. But, we get to move on to other all consuming pursuits. You're addicted now. Only 8 months to get that boat ready

Awesome! With so many Negative Nancy’s about this being the worst season and the flooding and the dry spells, yada yada , it’s so nice and refreshing hearing your positivity  :) Love that you’ve got a game plan for next season. I’m with ya on practicing my shooting. I’d like to get an auto thrower so I don’t have to rely on always going out with someone else for practice. Enjoy your off season!

Headed to the east side tomorrow morning at 3:30 a.m to hunt the last day with my son and a good friend of mine.  Then headed back home by noon to watch the Hawks play.  Hoping for some decent duck shooting and a win by the Hawks!  Gotta hunt the last day!

Now that is a bomber trip! I just slipped into my local spot only 25 min from the house hoping to be home by 1000. Can't imagine running east that quick! Good luck to all, stay safe, and be thankful for the bounty.

That’s a wrap. Great way to watch the sunset on the last day of the season.

Had a great time.  My boy and buddy left before I got there and setup the decoys.  Boy ran the boat back and picked me up at 6:30.  Hit the blind right before shooting time and had a decent shoot.   Picked up at 10:30 and headed back home at noon to watch the Hawks.  A bit tiring but worth it! I have a GWP too and a lot of it was just to get her out one more time.
