For some reason I'm thinking this should only effect the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area if they go through with it... But wouldn't be surprised if they put it on other wilderness areas that are popular hikes for the elite back packing snobs... Let's hope they don't screw us a little more...
I love you... I really do...

That would make sense if this actually had anything to do with recreational bear viewing conflict, you’re giving them entirely too much credit here.

this is horse*censored*.

they're inventing the notion of conflict between non hunters and hunters in order to further the agenda of restricting/banning hunting.

even if there were conflict, the wording suggests that non hunter recreation should be prioritized above hunting, especially through Labor Day.

all recreational groups should have access to public lands - to restrict access to one group at one time in order to elevate the access of another group is by definition discrimination.

I'll write some emails - this horse*censored* comes straight from Lorna Smith.

If they want to do this crap, maybe they should shut down the Mt bike trails to bikes in the Cole Creek drainage during modern deer. After all we don’t want any conflict.

Bunch of baloney.

8+ million people in WA state... About 2% of us are hunters that purchase a license... In 2024 there less than 12,000 bear tags sold...More applications to ALW were sold on a lottery system to the Enchantments... 40,000+ with 2,500 winners... We're fighting a losing battle in the war... When your own game department is against you it's pretty much a loss... Took spring bear... Cougar quotas... Wolfs up... Mule deer down... Just a sad all around...

You guys do realize this is purely just a suggestion and the bear season start date isn’t moving dates as stupid as it is.
