Probably a dumb question but can you tell when they’ve only got stubs if they’re gonna be branch antlered or spikes? Saw this guy on a camera today and was wondering.

I think he's a younger bull from his body and face... 3-4 year old... Healthy... Good bases for that age imo... Probably gonna be a smaller 5 or 6 point...  :twocents:  I need to go get my cams out...

Branch for sure, youngster.  As the state has forced the spike harvest more and more first year antlers are branched, not highly heritable but even low pass on makes a difference over time.
