this pic is from carsons first goose hunt, we met his dad and carson a while back and they said they hunted ducks but never geese but carson had always wanted to...so we took him out and though we didnt shoot many, he was able to see thousands...carson also came away with the quote of the day which was ..." dad, did i ever tell you i love this"

Here is my December entry for the picture contest. I know I posted this pic once already (yesterday) but a great guy on the site saw it and told me to send it to him so he could clean it up a bit if I would like. So here is the new and improved version. I am new to the site but very impressed with the great group of people on here!
Thanks Shawn,
Steve
P.S. Oh yeah, this is a Washington Bull shot only a mile or two away from the November photo contest winner just later in the day. (October 1, 2007 about 5:50pm Little Naches) One of six bulls I called in or called out if you will that day 3-6x6's 1-5x6 and 2-5x5's. Three of the six to within 40 yards, two of them to within 70 yards, and one to about 135 yards.

Nice Bull Steve! Nice clean up to!
Yea, had to try to sell some of my pics.
Wife said "If your going to spend that kind of money on gear, try to sell some".
I figured after 22 years I would give it a shot, plus now day's, it's easy.

You have a really nice portfolio. Great images. I really like the magic you capture with clouds and the sky. Very dramatic. I have seen thousands of Mt. Rainier photos and that is the nicest one I have seen so far. (and I have seen them all I think...) I have seen that halo the mountain gets from time to time and have never been able to capture it like you have. My wife also whines about the price of my photo gear. However, I am not going to sell photos anymore. Something changes the instant I am shooting for someone else... It just isn't as fun as it is when I'm shooting for myself. I'm sure you know what I mean.
By the way - I saw you shot the 1998 Rose Bowl. I shot that game also for Washington State University. Got good shots of Charles Woodson intercepting Ryan Leaf etc. Was a really good game. You never know, maybe we ran into each other eating food in the press lounge...lol

"You have a really nice portfolio. Great images."
I'll second that. I can't wait to see what you have done with your hunting shots.

I woke up to this view when I craweled out of my bivi sac while archery hunting for deer in the Goat Rocks wilderness this September. Sorry for the grainy pic, but it was a cool view that I thought you might enjoy.

Hey Elkman, your Rainier pic is truly inspiring. But I must cry foul and disqualify you.
It's obvious your a professional and I'm just a hack with a cheap digital camera doing a self portrait resting on a log.
Seriously that shot is awesome.

Well to be honest, I shoot video for a living.
Still photography has always been a hobby only, that I love to do, always in search for the perfect shot.
I have yet to sell anything other then what my wife took to a Craft fair at work a few weeks ago.
That and a couple of pics I shot at a all women's track day at Pacific race track.
I think it's just the time and effort I have put into it over the years, and I know what I like.
I mean I shoot that shot of Rainier every time I go thru there.
Now my wife understands why I do it every time, because one is going to be a winner.
And not just one shot, but like 40-80 over a hour bracketed to death.
ok, just got off a shoot here in Scottsdale, and I got get some sleep.
Thanks for the complements!

it's not much good, my good camera was broken so I had my daughters antique, 1.2 mega pixel point and shoot. I hate to go into the backcountry without a camera and that was all I had at the time.
