I dont know I didn't even know how to score very well that's why I was at a friends house who knows how to score so I could get it right. I am just going by what he said was the standard. maybe someone else out there could tell us.

I have heard standard for inside measurement of a set of elk sheds is 40" as well. And back to the question, whats the score?

that 40" is standard - looked it up! anyways, it didn't say anything about a smaller set of horns?? although, who cares about measuring a set of 4 or 5 point horns?? haha unless its a huge 5 point it woulndn't make the book anyways?!

big bulls i've seen get a 42-45" spread credit.

Well this was fun to hear what you guys thought and thanks for all that played sorry I didn't tell you sooner I was trying to give everyone a chance to see it and play along ... but it's been long enough and we have a winner! I will say you are all pretty darn close cause some of you would have been right in there had this been on a skull and able to credit 48" for the spread credit and some of you were right in there based on a net score with deductions But the rest were right on with the gross score based on the 40" credit and a gross score was what I asked for first so .................................................
P.S I gotta eat dinner will post the score right after I'm done!

Cograts to
Boneaddict
you nailed it right on the head ... well within 5/8 anyway!
Stats:
349 5/8 gross -with 40" drop spread credit
15 5/8 deducts
334 net
357 pushing 360
as it would be naturally on the animal with a 48" spread credit
Like I said originally I am more on the side with gross scores I am a believer that if the animal grows it, breaks it, bends it or loses it ...it is what it is you and the animal should get the credit for it! so he is a solid 350 class bull that I hope is still roaming around out there for somebody!
