I have seen lots of elk on the spokane rez. I have talked to some farmers up there and they said the indians chase the elk that come off the rez back on to it. Any body have an estimation on the colville elk herd size?

I'll ask a couple guys at work tonight and see if they got any clue as to how many there are......I know they hunt em but idk if they have any clue how big the herd is

I have seen a fair amount of elk through the north half, not a ton, but definitely a sustainable herd, and as has been said by others, there are some nice bulls for sure (and arguably the largest mule deer racks in the state).....they are trying to expand, such as to the Tunk/Aeneas/Republic area, but the any elk season in Okanogan County tends to limit their expansion....that being said, they move off the Rez a lot.
