Wenaha West scouting
« on: August 11, 2009, 05:34:41 PM »
Headed to do some scouting this weekend. It is amazing how much motivation a tag like this can bring a person. Eat, sleep and plan for this hunt. I have lost 14 lbs and still dropping. Working out everyday. Addicted to this forum. Talking with as many people as I can about this hunt. Bought a new pack and boots. I will post pictures when I get some good shots during my scouting adventures. My dad and I are planning on a base camp, and doing some spike camping during the hunt as recommended by more than one person.

I drew the muzzle loader tag with 11 points. If anyone has hunted this area before send me a PM. Always looking for more info.

Here are a few pictures from this past weekend. Seen a few elk, but no bulls yet. Got a good feel for the country and did a little hiking. Next trip I will go a little deeper.

Small buck on skyline. There are a few more deer in the picture but they are hard to see in the clouds.

Cloudy morning

Scouting the Wenaha, what a waist of time :twocents: Just do like Charlie did, drive over, hike down the first draw, shoot a 370 bull and have someone else pack it out for you. Shake their hand and drive home, piece of cake huh Chuck ;)

He might of been able to pack it out if he turned the rack up so it didn't drag on the ground.  :chuckle:
