Did you get the flash or infrared?  I had white out issues with the regular flash model (before it got stolen  >:( ) and I recall they had a flash brightness setting to help correct overexposure problems.  Might check that if it's regular flash.  Otherwise take it back  :dunno:.  They should try to get you squared away with a working cam.  :twocents:

I'm not sure if time of day is the issue when you get the white outs but another thing I thought of was what direction the camera is facing.  I had issues if my cam was pointing any direction but north.  The sun would wash out the pictures in the morning (if it faced the east) or in the evening (if facing west) so I always try to set it up facing north to limit the effect of the sun.  Other than that maybe you were unlucky and got a defective one?  :dunno:

The first time i got white out pics it was faceing to the north but maybe the afternoon sun was hitting it and i got the white outs. Then i moved the cam to a differnt spot in some trees and i faced it to the west still got white outs. :dunno: it's in the spot facing west right now and if i get more white outs i will probably take it back to cabelas and exchange it for another one.I'll be going to get it in alittle bit to see if i got more white outs.

Dang, sorry to hear you're still fighting with it.  FYI....Cabelas is changing their return policy Sept 1.

I had a Moultrie Game Spy 4 IR that did the same thing.  I returned it to Cabelas and exchanged it for another of the same model.  It also had problems (different ones).  I'm on my third and it works fine...so far.

With the warranty policy changing, I may return it now and buy something else before this one goes bad also.

Lots of owners report no problems, however.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

I just looked at their new Sept. 1 return policy and it looks like you have 60 days:

"Brand-name optics and electronics may be returned within 60 days of purchase with the original sales receipt.  The item must be returned in its original packaging and with all accompanying manuals and accessories.  After 60 days, these items must be returned to the manufacturer.  All manufacturers' warranties are in effect.

Optics include: Binoculars, rangefinders, scopes, nightvision, red-dots, boresighters, sunglasses.
Electronics include: GPS, sonar, cameras, phones, radios, interactive games, DVD players and disks, software, metal detectors, radar detectors, watches, electronic collars. "
