Goose Hunting Areas
« on: September 07, 2009, 04:24:05 PM »
I live in the South sound (between Tacoma and Olympia). Does anyone know good places to Goose hunt that doesnt require a boat in my general part of the state? I am willing to drive a little ways (90 minutes or so). Thanks.

from what i know about that area is trying to find an area that isnt a no shooting zone and trying to find ground the geese want to be on. go do some door knocking and try asking around to hunt on some private ground

Your best bet for the west side is down in the Chehalis valley or out toward Willapa Bay for honkers...but the bay is a little farther than you want to drive. Get ready to knock on some doors though, what little inland public land there is isnt great for killing geese. There is some small, and I mean small areas that you can find birds but there are too many golf courses and empty subdivisions out there for the geese to sit down on. Good Luck and I hope you're able to find a spot.
