Pics from my trip
« on: September 09, 2009, 07:31:24 PM »
Went scouting for deer and looking for a possible bear over the long weekend, saw some bucks and only one bear.  Also saw a decent bull moose.  Weather was not the greatest, wind, rain and snow.  Still beats the hell out of work.  Here are some pics.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

Sweet pictures.  Interesting how some of the bucks are completely bone and others still have all the velvet.

Did you get a shot at the bear?

No shot on the bear, ran out of daylight.   :bash:  too, bad though he was a nice color.  The bucks were about 50/50 on the velvet at the beginning of the weekend, by the end of the weekend probably 75-80 percent were hard horned.  The moose was still in velvet though.

If there is one animal I'd like to shoot (and have mounted) in velvet it would definitely be a moose.  I think they look really cool in velvet.  Deer antlers just kind of look like spider legs!  A nice velvet 6 point elk is pretty cool too.  For that matter so is Arhcery288's caribou.  I just think moose look really cool!

Wow, looks like you have a great spot with some nice bucks!  Good luck hunting them!

Some real nice photos.  Thanks for sharing.  I can't tell, is that the bear or moose in the first picture?
