Pew Report
« on: September 19, 2009, 06:42:43 PM »
Hit the river today, I must be an idiot magnet. Why are people so lazy they can't walk down to hundreds of yards of open shoreline and have to cast right over you?? Anyways, the lower Pew is dead, spawning dark pinks everyhwere that are not interested in anything. I saw two hook ups in three hours, no one taking any fish home. Maybe this rain will help pull some coho in. I had a pink beach itself literally on my feet spawning  :chuckle:.

definitely pass the plate number along to the game warden.  They will probably contact the driver and at least let him know that he was observed violating the law and maybe make him think twice about it, before he does it again.

Now, if you had a video cam, like I did last week, and you take a video of the people and vehicle doing the trespassing, you can send it to the game warden, and he can then right the ticket for trespassing.  I got good video of the vehicle, plate number, driver and passengers faces, guys with them on the quads faces, (and the fact the quads were unlicensed).  Contacted the local gamie, told him what I observed, gave him all the info, and then he got excited when I told him I had video of the whole thing.   He asked me to send him the video, and he was going to contact the individual and write the trespassing tickets.  I love this little Sony Handycam and plan on taking it on every trip into the woods now...or out fishing too.  Great way to make sure they get cited and fined.  Hard to argue against video...

What :dunno:
It's better to have a gun and not need it than to need one and not have it.                                                                             Local 66 sheetmetal workers

Isn't the lower river closed down now to let the tribe get their fill?

Isn't the lower river closed down now to let the tribe get their fill?

Partial closure only a couple days a week

Recreational salmon fishing on the river will be closed from noon Sundays to noon Tuesdays, Sept. 13-15, Sept. 20-22 and Sept. 27-29 in the portion of the river extending from the 11th Street Bridge in Tacoma to the City of Puyallup Outfall Structure across the river from the junction of Freeman Road and North Levee Road. This section of the river flows through the Puyallup Tribe's reservation.

Recreational fishing will remain open seven days a week upstream of the closed section. The lower section will reopen seven days a week beginning at noon Sept. 29.
