Impressed
« on: September 20, 2009, 05:34:24 PM »
Well son and I finally got around to shooting our new bighorns.  I shoot first at 50 yards...target had a small 3 inch orange circle on cardboard.  First shot in the bullseye, dead center slightly left 1/8 inch.  Second shoot 1/2 inch left and 1/4 inch lower than first shot.  Not bad just out of the box.  At 100 yards slightly right of bullseye by one inch on first shot , but right on level.  Second shot 2 inches right and one inch high.

Was shooting 90 grains Triple 7 with a 300 grain Hornady SST bullet with red sabot.  Son's gun wasn't as dead on at first...hit outer edge of target at 50 first shot, but after adjusting sight....shot about the same.  He likes 100 grains though...only difference.

Both guns had Williams peep sights with original fiber optic Knight front sights.  Gotta say..........pretty impressed.  Can't wait till next weekend!

Hey Yelp, what's the forecast on my muleys over there?  I've been hearing from the bowhunters that there are a number of big ones this year.  I'll be leaving for Coulee in the morning.  I can't wait.
