Thanks, guys!   I was pretty excited to finally get one of these ghosts.  I caped him and put him in the freezer - not sure if I will get him mounted or not.  He does have wall appeal with the width, but only scores 140".  The only thing that sucks about killing him is, I don't have a tag to hunt on until the 15th!

On a seperate note, I saw the biggest blacktail that I have ever seen in my life this morning.   About 5:30 a.m., and he was feeding off of the on-ramp on the Jackson exit right by tacoma narrows.   He was 145"+ all day long - huge!

Nice buck, love the caption under the tractor pic "redneckpack", also makes it easy to hang.. :chuckle:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Here is a buck that I photo'ed not too far from where I shot this guy on August 14th.   It is not the same buck, but you can see the likeness.   A bunch of big 4's around our place.  Must be the genes?  There is one buck that dwarfs the one I killed and this guy.  I did not expect to see him during daylight hours, though.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Oh, there are plenty around.   The one year that I do not draw the late tag!   I wouldn't wait for late season, though.  There are some big deer that are living in real accessible country for rifle hunters.  The locals will kill some monster whiteys this year in the regular rifle season - wait and see!  It's gonna be good one, good luck.

Hopefully we'll find a good buck for the wife during the general. Myself I will be muzzy hunting.
