hey you, on the green
« on: September 29, 2009, 08:55:48 AM »
this is a warning to those who love to through buzz bombs and just rip them through the river hoping to snap pinks. keeping fish that you have snagged is illegal and i will be there with my video cammera documenting your activities. last night i was there and i watch a couple guys doing this. one guy cought 10+ fish doing this and kept all of them. the police showed up to check for licences and this guy bolts(along with a few others who didnt bother to take there fish with them. there was probly 20 illegaly caught fish left on the bank when the cops showed up). i will be taking licence plate numbers and filming, you are poaching and i will expose you. ( i'm sure its noone on this site, but i would suggest keeping an eye out.) remember the wdfw rewards you for turning in poachers.

I commend you for doing what you're doing, but i'm curious...how does the wdfw reward you for turning in fish poachers?
be careful.

Good luck bro... I just about got thrown in the river on Saturday for mentioning that to the 50+ guys that were down there fishing. I guess when you fish in the ghetto, the regs don't apply.

If you know how to fish... the fishing in great. If you're a 2 time fellon out of parole, living in downtown Auburn, or a Russian who doesn't speak a lick of english, or running from the cops is an everyday occurance... then snagging fish isn't even a crime to you.

It's funny you would come out with a warning like that then follow it up by saying "It's noone(spell check) on this site". You might try a different approach. Theres a way to be civil about posting on a public site.

if you read the post you would see i asked for people to keep an eye out. and its funny that you would take offense to it, it definetly doesnt seem that you might be feeling guilty about something huh? and at the risk of sounding like a dick, i will take whatever approach i choose reguardless of how you might feel. thanks anyway.

Rock on!!!!! and glad someone is turning these slugs in.  As you know you can video tape from a long ways away and get all the detail the gamies need.  They may not get them that day, but they will get them later as the same dirt bags usually fish the same area.  Had a gamie who moved from the West side tell me that they could never write or even come close to catching all the illegal fishing on the coast rivers.  Then I tried the Skagit for the first time about a month ago, and every single person I saw catch a fish did not write it down.  We did not catch a fish in two days because at that time only the bait guys were catching them.  I saw several guys catch over limit, and one guy who caught a limit then came back later in the day.  The guy who came back was near us, and I told him that he already had his limit from the morning.  He just mumbled, turned around and left.  There were probably 6-8 fishermen visible to us, and easily four of them every day could have been ticketed.  We called the gamies and told them what we saw and the area, and we were told that they will try but there were so many violators they could not just target one area.  Based on what I saw and what I was told it sounds like there is not enough hours in a day or gamies to even come close to dealing with the problem.

It is funny. The woman And I were walking long the carbon and almost everyone I saw fishing was snagging. She asked me why people kept ripping there poles back so I had to explain it to her. She did not like that one bit. I did see some people leaving with some nice kings thou.

Just wondering why you post a warning to those who are snagging on this website and then follow it up with ...I'm sure its none on this site :dunno: I too have seen people poaching and I too have turned them in. And I have yet to see anykind of "reward" for turning in a fishing poacher. I agree with you about poachers but I also agree with skyvalhunter about some maybe taking it the wrong way. And I do not feel "guilty" about anything.

Snagging fish is just what it implies.  Legal fish are caught in the mouth. Snagging is when your hooks bump a fish and you intentionally try to snag that fish with your hook....tail, back, belly, fins. That is illegal

This is funny..... You guys bitch and complain about indians gillnetting and snagging but you resort to "Snitching" on your brothers and sisters of this state. It's pathetic that "WA State" is out to make money so aggresively like this. Have you seen the penalties?

The problem lies with the WDFW who make such ridiculous rules. Sportsmen don't even put a 10% dent into the catch of salmon in this state, but yet get blamed for 90% of the problem with the dwindling stocks.

Our governor and legislature can make backroom deals with special interests and disregard that they work for us the people but you want to worry about a few salmon? I'm here to say that you are wrong, that those salmon that these unfortunate people who snag is not the problem. The only thing "YOU" are doing is enriching the state's coffers, and supporting BS policies.

Every biologist I have ever talked with has stressed that we don't even account for 10% of the take. And by the fact that we don't take our
50% the indians want to take our share, and you want to help them? 40% more to the indians? Are you kidding me?

I have asked if we don't get our 50% why can't they make more liberal limits only to be told that their hands are tied. I say BULL SHlT

So you go ahead and help the morons of this state put our hard earned money and taxes into the coffers of special interests, under the guise of "Social Services" into the general fund.

So that we can get programs for the illegals, along with more social services.

I was at the mouth of the Green River/Duwamish mouth and what I saw was such a waste, by your beloved indian morons, but hey you can't turn them in cause WDFW don't wanna do anything about them wasting fish, or as they put it "They don't wan't to stick their hands in the hornets nest" They said call the tribe. Yeah right.......

They can net all day and night and if they don't pull their nets and the salmon carcasses rot then oh well?

If we bitch about indians snagging why would we not bitch about anyone else snagging? What is the difference if a guy shoots a trophy elk out of season or poaches 4 deer? :dunno: Should we turn a blind eye to that as well. :dunno: I DON'T THINK SO. If you turn him in are you still considered  a "snitch". If so then that is your opinion.  Big game, fish, birds or small game...it doesn't matter a poacher is a poacher. We sportsmen must stick together as a group. Fishermen, bowhunters, muzzy or rifle...together we have a stronger voice. I myself will turn in any poacher or acts of poaching I see.  If that makes me a "snitch" .....so be it ...I'm guilty. This just my opinion.   And what was up with that comment about "YOUR beloved indian morons"? Shoudn't that be " OUR beloved indian morons" or do you live in a different state? Again...just my opinion.
