Copalis Unit 642?
« on: October 03, 2009, 11:35:47 PM »
Opening weekend my wife wants to go to ocean for clams. Package deal, Hunt in morning clam in afternoon.
One big problem. Never hunted the area/unit. Taking my nephew with me.
Any suggestions on area to start looking?
Heard some deer in Oyhut wildlife area, not sure if firearm restricted though.

Have you heard anything about this unit? I am thinking of exploring it in the archery late season...

I was in the area fishing for salmon on the Copalis river and saw a few deer on my drive in from Aberdeen from what i saw there is alot of roads gated that may be walkin only.Looks like good deer country lots of clear cuts just everything gated. If you go let me know how it went next year i was thinking about a muzzle deer and coho combo.        Goodluck Kram

There are some deer in the Copalis. Make sure to check out any of the Rayonier land.....it may be leased and off limits to the public.
