A lot of variables come into play here but for varmints I would go with the 55 grain.  No need for that extra bullet weight and you'll get flatter, faster shooting from the smaller bullet.  I shoot a 55 Grain V-max out of my .243 and it works great.

The 55's are great but I've switched to the 65gr last year just to try them on coyotes.

For just killing the yote or saving the hide?  If your going to use your .243 as a combo varmint/deer gun, I would go with a good constructed 90-100 gr (the 95 gr Fusion would be good).  With practice, you should have no problems inside of 300 yards.

On the other hand, if it's going to be used exclusively for predator/varmints, I'd go with a lighter 55-65 gr V-max/ballistic tip bullet.

I tried the 6mm varmint gernade they did ok but my group expanded out to much at 200 yrds. I like the 55gr nosler balistic tip with H380 good groups and the dogs go down. :twocents:
